[1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and his anointed, saying,
[3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
[5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
[6] Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
[7] I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
[9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
[10] Be wise now, therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
[11] Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
[12] Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Personal Insights
- If you serve the lord — He shall make you his King / Son.
- Shall he give you the inheritance of some sort?
- The Original King was David as the psalms are associated with him first hence the son can only be Kind David himself. (context of the psalm itself)
- The Lord chooses the anointed one above the kings of the Earth. ( as a form of Khalifa / Vicegerent)
- Son of god has been used many times throughout the bible. The nation of Israel is called the firstborn of god. ( Jewish teachings)
- If David is the son of god, then Christ is also the son of god and all prophets would be ‘’ the son of God’’ as they all held a strong relationship with the Almighty. ( overall inspection)
- However, Christians refer to this as only Christ being the son of god referred to in this passage even though this psalm was written way before the advent of Jesus Christ.
- The Jewish lens would state that the son of god in this passage is King David himself and the Christian lense would state that it is Jesus christ.
- The overall lense does not state who the son of god is in this passage hence it would leave room for anyone who is chosen by the lord to be the king/son/ appointed one ( Overall inspection)
- At best I would state not to mess with the one who has a strong relationship with the lord and himself. ( the psalm almost reads as a warning to those who have forgotten the lord and his appointed one)

Quran : 38:26
˹We instructed him:˺ “O David! We have surely made you an authority / Khalifa in the land, so judge between people with truth. And do not follow ˹your˺ desires or they will lead you astray from Allah’s Way. Surely those who go astray from Allah’s Way will suffer a severe punishment for neglecting the Day of Reckoning.”
God almighty chose King David to become a Khalifa / Vicergant for the people , similar context found in the pslam two as a way to show God has chosen a son to represent him on earth. its almost uncanny that the quran would ellude to King david as a representative of God but the wording is changed as in the old scriptures its related to being the son of god / anointed by god , but by the time we get to the Arabic revelation then its re-instated back to a Successor / Leader / Representative of God Almighty.
I hope this can show the people that god almighty has been sending the same message over and over agian over the centuries but people just dont seem to connect the dots over the years , but the arabic revelation / quran brings its back to light in a more simple way for the reader to grasp.
